However, the Spaniard shocked the world with his return to the sport at 40, with Alpine. Now, heading to Aston Martin at 41, Alonso might already be planning his future beyond his new team.

Alonso has showcased time and again that the two-time world champion still has what it takes to survive in the premier class. Not just survive, the Spaniard is showcasing blistering speed for Alpine.

This is exactly what earned the two-time world champion a move to Aston Martin. The move surprised many just one year after his reintroduction to F1 with Alpine. Aston Martin cashed in on Alonso’s form and everlasting youth to get their team higher on the field.
