Lando Norris has had a rough couple of weeks in Formula 1. His comments on Lewis Hamilton and Lance Stroll during the Portimao race weekend were met with significant backlash.

Post the race, Lando said that Hamilton’s record-breaking win doesn’t mean anything to him. Lando later publicly apologized for his comments and admitted that he was being stupid and careless.

Lando later came clean, explaining that he has a lot of respect for Hamilton. He failed to choose the right words to put things in context.

At the same time, Lando Norris made a critical remark on Lance Stroll. Stroll was involved in a collision with Max Verstappen during free practice.

Lance ended up colliding with Lando in a similar manner. In a post-match interview, he stated that Lando obviously did not learn from him Friday’s incident.

These critical remarks fired a lot of negative social media for Lando. He said, “I woke up in the morning and I looked on social media and there was a lot more bad comments than good about the things I said.”

In another interview, Lando was asked when did he experience that F1 can be cruel. He answered, “The last few days have probably been the worst”. He further added, “I am a nice guy really”.

Lando acknowledged that in this day and age, one has to be careful of what they say. Moreover, he explained that he failed to pick the right words and was apologetic for his language more than anything.

Lando states that he has learned from his mistake this past week. Furthermore, he assures that whenever he makes mistakes, he will always try to do the right thing.

The Formula 1 community is surely missing the old aloof Lando. Hopefully, he will start with his twitch streams again where we will get to see some top-class digs at Leclerc.
