November 1, 2020 12:45 pm

Sebastian Vettel is parting ways with Ferrari and moving to Aston Martin next year. He answered some questions about both constructors during the Imola GP Scuderia Ferrari press conference.

Sebastian answered about what will he miss the most about Ferrari. He was also asked about the first thing that he is planning to do after joining Racing Point/Aston Martin next season.

Sebastian Vettel will miss the people at Ferrari

Sebastian Vettel explained that being with a team is like being in a relationship. He has had a long relationship with Scuderia Ferrari. He explained, “I think I will miss the people.”

His love for Ferrari was tangible to Michael Schumacher’s wins with Ferrari. Sebastian explained that even after he leaves the team, the people and memories will remain.

However, Sebastian acknowledged the legacy of Ferrari. He said, “I will miss the spirit, the idea, the legend of Ferrari.”

Sebastian admitted his love for Ferrari. Meanwhile, he explained that as a part of the team, one sees the people behind the team. According to Sebastian, those are the essential part of the team.

“Good news is that I’ll still see some of them regularly next year. Although, in a different way, but still,” he further added.

Sebastian discusses the challenges of moving to Aston Martin

The former world champion is having a tough season at Ferrari and is solely focused on making the most of these last few races left. As a result, he pointed out that he hasn’t really thought about what will be the first thing he does once he moves to Aston Martin for 2021.

However, Vettel acknowledged that there will be some challenges. “I think, it will be a big challenge to get on top of everything,” he said.

It understandably takes time to get accustomed to a new team and a new car. Vettel said, “Come January-February, I am going to throw myself into the project. Try to make sure I understand everything before driving, testing and racing start.”

According to Sebastian, the most pertinent thing is to understand and know the team. On the first thing he’d do, he said, “Trying to establish the differences and contribute to making things better.”

Sebastian Vettel had to depart from Ferrari without completing his dream of winning a world championship with the team. Vettel will be looking forward to putting the disastrous 2020 season behind him and fight for the podium once again with Aston Martin next season.
