Ever since the news of the floods in Emilia Romagna came out, the F1 community has stood strong with the victims. The ones who started were the local Italian team, Ferrari, with their $1 million donation announcement. Soon, the F1 management announced its package as well. Now, McLaren’s Lando Norris is doing his part by putting his Call of Duty skills to use.

Just when the city of Emilia Romagna was preparing for its annual extravaganza, the Italian GP, tragedy struck the region of North Italy. Heavy rains lashed the region, making the rivers swell up and flood the entire area. The calamity is refusing to abate as the death toll continues to rise. As per a recent report by Al Jazeera, the floods have claimed 13 lives and as the search operations continue to run, this number is only going up. Just yesterday, F1 announced a 1 million Euro ($1.07 million approx.) help to the Emilia-Romagna Region’s Agency for Territorial Safety and Civil Protection.

Drivers are doing their part to help in whatever way they can. AlphaTauri has its headquarters in Faenza and its senior driver, Yuki Tsunoda lives there as well. Being a good samaritan, Yuki took up the cleaning tasks as we saw through a Twitter post that went viral recently. Lando, however, lives in the UK but that did not stop him from devising a way to help.

Apart from being a phenomenal driver, Lando Norris is also a regular Twitch streamer. He mostly plays FPS games or Rocket League with his close friends and puts up an entertaining show for his fans. Yesterday, Norris did a subathon and played Call of Duty: Warzone with his squad. As for the purpose of the stream, he announced a $1,000 donation for every 250 subscriptions. Given how popular he is on Twitch and the purpose of the stream being a charity, fans subscribed in massive numbers.
