Sebastian Vettel endured a horrible 2020 season, being beaten by his teammate, Charles Leclerc throughout the year. Such a downer would obviously have taken a mental toll on him, and thus, his Aston Martin stint comes as a ray of hope. However, according to former F1 driver Christian Klien, there’s a chance that his new project might be plagued by similar issues as well.

The German has a new challenge waiting for him in 2021 and hopes to beat his Canadian teammate in his debut season for the Silverstone-based team. If he fails to do that, Klien believes the German’s career might end.

Sebastian Vettel has to beat Stroll in 2021

Christian Klien said, “Sebastian has a chance to start all over again in Aston Martin. But he needs to keep the competition under control with Lance Stroll. I think this will be very important to him.”

He added, “Vettel always had psychological problems when his teammates were really fast. That was the case for both Daniel Riccardo and Charles Leclerc. If he can’t keep Lance behind him, his career will soon end.” ( translated via Google)
