Sebastian Vettel endured a horrible 2020 season, being beaten by his teammate, Charles Leclerc throughout the year. Such a downer would obviously have taken a mental toll on him, and thus, his Aston Martin stint comes as a ray of hope. However, according to former F1 driver Christian Klien, there’s a chance that his new project might be plagued by similar issues as well.

The German has a new challenge waiting for him in 2021 and hopes to beat his Canadian teammate in his debut season for the Silverstone-based team. If he fails to do that, Klien believes the German’s career might end.

Christian Klien said, “Sebastian has a chance to start all over again in Aston Martin. But he needs to keep the competition under control with Lance Stroll. I think this will be very important to him.”

He added, “Vettel always had psychological problems when his teammates were really fast. That was the case for both Daniel Riccardo and Charles Leclerc. If he can’t keep Lance behind him, his career will soon end.” ( translated via Google)

The German’s next chapter in F1

Vettel’s last season with the Italian team was one he would like to forget since he scored only 33 points. However, a new journey begins for him in 2021 with Aston Martin, the German is optimistic for his first season.

Vettel will don the British green colors in place of the red ones of Ferrari in the new year.

The clock is ticking away as we wait for the new season to begin. Vettel will show that he still has the motivation and talent to drive an F1 car, once the season goes underway he won’t shy away from beating his new teammate.
