Mick Schumacher has arguably had a very wavering fan following ever since he debuted in the sport in 2021. However, lately, he has been in stonking form. The British Grand Prix is a prime example of the same, where he earned his first ever Formula 1 points. But someone still believes Haas does not appreciate the quality they have within their ranks.

Former Mercedes boss Norbert Haug has shown his displeasure towards how Mick Schumacher is treated by the American Formula 1 team. This comes in light of Haas announcing that Antonio Giovinazzi will be running at two FP1 sessions in 2022. Haug told Sky Deutschland, “A driver is a race horse, not a plow horse. You have to give him courage.”

Haug believes that giving Giovinazzi the opportunity means depriving Schumacher of important mileage. “Every kilometer that a driver does not get hurts him for the race weekend.”He concluded his rant by summarizing that, “If you support a driver and give him the opportunity, then something will progress.”.

Haug believes Schumacher deserves better after matching toe-to-toe with 7-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton. “He was on an equal footing with a seven-time World Champion. Anyone who can do that is certainly not an untalented driver.” (translated via Google Translate).
