Last year, if you told F1 fans that Mercedes won’t win a single race next year, they would probably call you a madman. However, what initially seemed unthinkable might soon turn into reality. Lewis Hamilton and co. will be praying for a miracle in Singapore to save some blushes.
However, there is no hiding place for Mercedes at the moment. They were on the back foot from the very first race of the season. Although they have fought back to some extent, their W-13 car has been nowhere near that of their rivals Ferrari and Red Bull.

Former Mercedes Team Principal Ross Brawn believes that Lewis and Michael Schumacher‘s situation in 2010 is somewhat similar. Schumacher helped the team massively by redefining his role and helped Mercedes build the team that would go on and dominate the better part of the next decade.
Ross believes Lewis Hamilton is doing something similar presently. However, he does not rule out his chances of winning. Brawn said, “Lewis will come back, I’m convinced of that,” the ex-Mercedes team boss emphasized. “Just like his team. I believe that periods of weakness that you have to overcome make you even stronger.”
