Rivals but sometimes goofballs – a potential title for Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc’s friendship. This duo has graced nearly all post-qualifying Top 3 interviews in the last 2 years and has had their share of laughs with certain questions. They even made it to all Top 3’s in the 4 Miami GP events. However, Verstappen’s post on X about the Miami GP has left their fans in splits.

Leclerc and Verstappen’s rivalry began over a decade ago. In 2012, they got into a fierce on-track karting battle, leading to the origin of Leclerc’s famous meme – the “inchident”. That rivalry continued and blossomed into F1’s top battle. Funnily, Verstappen even referenced the “inchident” meme while explaining his pit lane incident at the 2023 British GP.

After the Miami GP, which Lando Norris won, with Verstappen, in P2, and Leclerc, in P3, the Red Bull driver’s main X page, @VerstappenCOM, shared a carousel of photos from the podium celebrations. One image of the champagne-spraying celebration was posted twice. The second version of the picture was unusually zoomed into Leclerc’s face as he had his tongue out.

That left fans baffled. They credited the page’s admin for blessing their feed with this hilarity. Let us have a look at what they said.

Fans cook hilarious theories over Max Verstappen’s zoomed-in Charles Leclerc image

Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc were the only two drivers in Miami to secure the Top 3 in each event – Sprint Qualifying, Sprint Race, Qualifying, and the main race. Though Lando Norris took the big prize home on Sunday, these two didn’t hold back while celebrating. And the hysterical post-race photos show everything. In an attempt to highlight the caption’s meaning, which was “Miami dress code: BLUE💙”, the admin zoomed quite a lot into the only podium finished with a special blue race suit.

Naturally, fans doubted what the admin was doing, zooming so much into Leclerc’s funny face. A Verstappen-Leclerc fan page demanded an explanation from the Dutchman’s social media admin.

Another user just wanted the admin to know that his secret crush on Leclerc is safe with them.

One Twitterati even referenced the “inchident”, highlighting how Verstappen’s X admin “blessed”  F1 fans on the iconic meme’s 12th anniversary.

This next theory is probably what most fans shipping the duo’s bromance would want – the 3-time champion himself posted his fellow Ferrari driver’s picture.

Echoing the previous person, another fan pleaded with Verstappen to notice that he had used his website’s main X account instead of his personal account for this frivolity.

What do you make of this situation? Verstappen’s honest mistake or did the social media admin get cheeky?
