Formula One will enter a new era in the 2022 season. The sport will have new cars, with better and more sustainable engines to minimize the carbon footprint. New manufacturers such as Volkswagen have shown interest in joining F1 in the coming years. F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali mentioned that they will hold talks with the German manufacturer in the coming months.
Stefano mentioned he is happy that a big brand like Volkswagen is showing interest in Formula One. But he clarified that they have not started any negotiations or talks with the manufacturer yet.

F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali mentions he will welcome Volkswagen to the sport
As reported by F1-insider, Domenicali laid the rules that Volkswagen has to follow if they want to enter the sport. He mentioned that sustainable engines should be the top priority for every manufacturer in F1.
“I think an important month is ahead of us in terms of the Volkswagen Group’s decision. It would be great to get started, but I can’t speak on behalf of VW. I’ve been part of this incredible corporation for a couple of years and I know how hard they are working on the future.” said Stefano.
