F1 Fans Speculate as Mercedes Hint the Return of Silver Livery for the 2022 Season

Mercedes are one of the most dominating teams on the Formula One grid, having won eight Constructors’ titles. For the 2020 and the 2021 seasons, they changed their livery to signify diversity.

The Brackley-based team also recently posted a video on Twitter, which got the F1 community wondering if the silver livery is going to feature on the grid in the upcoming season.

Mercedes hint at the return of the silver livery for the 2022 season

For the last two seasons of Formula One, the Silver Arrows have run a black livery to fight for a cause. But, with the 2022 season around the corner, fans are speculating that the silver livery is set to return as the team posted a video on Twitter.

They wrote, What defines a Team… Coming soon.”

A silver Mercedes on the Formula One grid is one of the most recognizable cars on the Formula One grid. And, now with the team hinting at their return, fans are excited about the W13 in a silver livery.

How did the Silver Arrows perform this season?

The Toto Wolff-led team had an intense fight with Red Bull all season long, both in the Constructors and the Driver’s championship. Lewis Hamilton managed to bag eight wins, five pole positions, and seventeen podiums, while Valtteri Bottas managed one win, four poles, and eleven podiums.

Hamilton earned 387.5 points, and Bottas bagged 226 points, giving a total of 613.5 to the Silver Arrows, which saw them win the constructor’s championship but miss out on the driver’s championship.

With the 2022 season a few months away, the Brackley-based outfit is looking forward to their winter break and will come back stronger as the new lineup between Hamilton and George Russell gives them a sense of boost with regard to the upcoming season.
