Max Verstappen and Red Bull have been the benchmark for the 2023 F1 season and the combination to beat for the rest of the field. While Sergio Perez has given some competition to Max Verstappen, the Dutchman looks unbeatable after his performances at Jeddah and Miami. Verstappen started P15 at Jeddah and finished P2 only 5 seconds behind Perez. And in Miami after starting P9 he won the race comfortably with no competition whatsoever.

Verstappen had a big task ahead of him after starting P9. Regardless, the Dutchman made overtake after overtake, lap after lap and was already in P2 by Lap 15 after overtaking Fernando Alonso. Verstappen then started catching up to Checo on slower rubber. Comfortably leading the race, Verstappen pitted for new rubber, overtook Checo and set the fastest lap to win the race.

Current IndyCar driver and 3x Supercars champion Scott McLaughlin put a Tweet out about Max Verstappen’s dominance on the race day. As the Dallara driver was watching the Miami GP, he tweeted about how Verstappen is already in P2 just after 15 laps despite starting P9. The Kiwi attached a lol at the end, suggesting he thought of Red Bull’s dominance as a joke after all that F1 has done to promote closer racing.
