Valtteri Bottas has moved to Alfa Romeo this season to make a way for George Russell. In light of this, Will Buxton has shared his thoughts on Valtteri’s upcoming 2022 season. The F1 broadcaster and journalist believes that the former Mercedes man will not be able to win a race this season.

Valtteri Bottas had some decent years at Mercedes. The Finn had been partnering with Lewis Hamilton from the 2017 season. Since he joined the Brackley-based team, he has been an absolute supportive teammate to the seven times world champion.

Will was recently seen talking to F1 enthusiasts Fabio Bocca and Jake Boys on their PitStop podcast. When asked if Bottas can fetch a win this season, Buxton replied, “Okay, that’s not gonna happen. Love Valtteri to bits, love you to bits but no that’s not gonna happen.” The British reporter further stated, “If that happens I’ll get Valtteri tattooed on me.

What might hinder Valtteri Bottas to pick up a win this season?

Bottas moved to Alfa Romeo, the team that finished in P9 in Constructor’s Championship last season. With just 13 points in the bag, they were just ahead of Haas, who got no points the entire season. Considering the teams’ 2021 performance, as well as the reliability issues they faced during the Barcelona pre-season testing, it seems unlikely that the Finn would pick up a win this season.

Apart from the top four teams, Aston Martin, AlphaTauri, and even Alpine seem in a good position to pick up a win, if the big four fail on a given day. All in all, Valtteri Bottas winning a race in Alfa Romeo currently seems like a distant dream. However, with luck on Finn’s side, he might pull up a victory who knows.
