In the first seven years of his career in the premier class, Max Verstappen earned himself a nickname, “Mad Max”. However, in his eighth, after becoming a world champion, the Dutchman is trying to get rid of the tag. Either that or he has immensely matured, as evident from his racing so far in the current season.

The mature driving has put Verstappen in touching distance of his second championship in as many years. The sophisticated driving has also translated to less oversight from an otherwise hands-on Jos Verstappen. It’s either the mature driving or Verstappen Sr. has his hands full with his own racing career.

The former Formula 1 racing driver has added a new section to his racing portfolio. Earlier this year, Jos Verstappen made his official rallying debut in Belgium.

“I just rolled in here,” said the 50-year-old to emphasize he did not take up rallying because of the lack of supervision in his son’s career.

Apart from his thoughts about rallying, in the past, Verstappen has also discussed other racing competitions. Discussing the unofficial Triple Crown title, Verstappen made his thoughts crystal clear on Indy Car racing.

“I’ve no desire to chase the Triple Crown. At least, not Indy. It’s insane, these drivers..” said Verstappen.

However, Verstappen kept an open mind about the endurance race. He said, “Maybe Le Mans. I do like endurance races, so I will probably do some, hopefully soon, but for me, it doesn’t really matter.”
