In the first seven years of his career in the premier class, Max Verstappen earned himself a nickname, “Mad Max”. However, in his eighth, after becoming a world champion, the Dutchman is trying to get rid of the tag. Either that or he has immensely matured, as evident from his racing so far in the current season.
The mature driving has put Verstappen in touching distance of his second championship in as many years. The sophisticated driving has also translated to less oversight from an otherwise hands-on Jos Verstappen. It’s either the mature driving or Verstappen Sr. has his hands full with his own racing career.

The former Formula 1 racing driver has added a new section to his racing portfolio. Earlier this year, Jos Verstappen made his official rallying debut in Belgium.
“I just rolled in here,” said the 50-year-old to emphasize he did not take up rallying because of the lack of supervision in his son’s career.
However, he did say, “But to sit at home all day … I must have that challenge, so to speak.” (Translated by Google)
Verstappen Sr. revealed how Max feels about it. “He thinks I’m crazy,” he jokes and adds on a serious note. “He likes it, but he doesn’t like driving so close to those trees. But I think I also had that when I was that young. That’ll come. He’s busy with other things now.”

The younger Verstappen is definitely busy with other things in life and has a valid contract till 2028. Additionally, no F1 fan would want to see the Dutchman step away from the sport before 2028. It’s safe to assume that Max Verstappen is on the same page!
