The F1 fanbase has seen massive growth in recent years. The Netflix docuseries has majorly aided in doing just that. And there have been recent announcements that another massive tech giant has partnered up with the sport.

Salesforce, one of the world leader in CRM (customer relationship management) company has signed a deal with F1.

Salesforce joins F1

The company will aim to aid Formula 1 in fan engagement and help further grow the fanbase. Additionally, F1 will work with Salesforce to speed up their plans of reaching net-zero emission by 2030. Salesforce’s  Net Zero Cloud helps companies take major steps towards carbon neutrality.

F1 will also be using its Salesforce Customer 360 platform to boost customer engagement. Colin Fleming, Executive Vice President, for Salesforce, said, “Salesforce is excited to join the fast-paced world of Formula 1, partnering with them to connect with their global fanbase in a whole new way.

It is interesting to see tech firms like Google, Qualcomm, Lenovo, and now Salesforce invest in the sport.

3 US Grand Prix?

In other recent news, there has been the announcement of a 3rd race in the United States from 2023. The race will be held in Las Vegas. The other 2 races in the US are in Austin and, 2022 debutant, Miami. The race in Las Vegas will be held on a street circuit passing through the city.

The growth of the sport in the USA has seen a slow Americanization of F1. While Haas is currently the only American team on the grid there are always rumors of Andretti joining the sport as well. The door for American drivers has also been held open. Michael Andretti promised to use an American driver for his team if he entered F1.

He will draft current Indy Car driver Colton Herta. The American also recently tested for McLaren as a part of a development deal.
