It’s the final race weekend for the 2021 F1 season. While the championship excitement heats up, it will also be a fan favorite’s last race; Kimi Raikkonen will sit behind the wheel for the last time on Sunday. Except, Raikkonen spends his time behind another wheel, and in true Iceman fashion, continues to entertain his fans.

Kimi Raikkonen took to the dunes of the desert in Abu Dhabi and as the driver rode in a Polaris with his teammate, Antonio Giovinazzi, Raikkonen soon flipped the vehicle over. Alfa Romeo shared a rather action-movie-poster-esque post of the Finn, and fans couldn’t help but reminisce about the man hanging up his racing boots.

Fans bring out their best Kimi Raikkonen lines

Although the Iceman is a man of few words, when he speaks, we get absolute gems. From iconic radio moments to interview responses, the flipped vehicle garnered Kimi Raikkonen responses from the fans. As fans added the dialogue to what Kimi could have said, the Twitter responses were like a trip down Raikkonen lane.

Alfa Romeo & Giovinazzi honor Raikkonen

Alfa Romeo added a special sticker to their driver’s chassis for this weekend. Referring to Raikkonen’s infamous line, “Leave me alone, I know what I’m doing,” the team paid an ode to it.

The new addition to the tub reads: “Dear Kimi, we will leave you alone now.”

Further, although it’s his last race as well, Antonio Giovinazzi dedicated his helmet to his teammate. After a three-year-long partnership, the respect between the two has been immense. As a result, Gio drew inspiration from Raikkonen’s 2007 title-winning helmet; he also added a “thank you Kimi” to the heartfelt design.

As Formula 1 gets ready to wave goodbye to its 2007 champion, we will dearly miss Raikkonen in the sport. However, now the Finn can kick back and relax; enjoying some well-earned family time with the Ice cubes.
