Force India was in dire straits financially when the Lawrence Stroll-led consortium bought the team. He rebranded the team as Racing Point Force India. Later, he rebranded it as just Racing Point. As he bought a sizeable share in Aston Martin, he completely overhauled the team in partnership with Aramco and Cognizant, renaming the team Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant. The Canadian tycoon has now upped his share in Aston Martin with a massive investment.
Lawrence’s involvement in motorsport isn’t a new thing. The Canadian investor owned Circuit Mont-Tremblant from 2000 until 2021. Moreover, his son Lance Stroll had proven his talent on the track by winning the F3 championship in 2016. Williams brought Lance into F1 in 2017, where he became the second youngest driver ever to start a race and secure a podium finish.
