Yuki Tsunoda, the driver racing under the Japanese flag, will step foot in the F1 circuit in the 2021 season. He will race behind the wheels of AlphaTauri, the sister team of Red Bull.

Tsunoda, born on May 11, 2000, started his career in karting at the age of ten. The inception of his karting career was in 2010 with Junior Karting Championship. He hopped to the regional class in 2013 and then, in 2014, he further moved ahead to the national class.

After graduating from Suzuka Circuit Racing School in 2016, he became a member of the Honda Formula Dream Project.

Following that, he ran his maiden race in the Japanese Formula 4. He started claiming podium stands from his first race, achieving the second stand in his maiden race, and fourth in his second race. With seven victories, he won the crown, and resigned from the field in 2018.

After competing in the Red Bull Junior Team and in the Honda program, he signed a contract with Jenzer Motorsports.

In 2019, he contested in the FIA Formula 3 Championship. With one triumph and three podium finishes, he claimed the ninth position. He also contested at the Euro Formula Open Championship, ranking second in the first race, and acing the second.

Tsunoda joined FIA F2 Championship in 2020. He registered himself in Carlin, under the flag of Japan. With his raging form of racing, he amassed three victories, four pole positions, and seven podiums too. Moreover, he conquered the third Championship title as well.

His sense of the application of needful strategies and tactics on time while racing is worth mentioning. Moreover, the way he speeds along the track quickly grabbed the attention of FIA and F1 successfully in the 2020 season. After competing in just 24 races, the 20- year-old attained two fastest laps in F2.

He bagged P9 in F3 and further triumphed three races in F2, with an addition of a podium finish in the season finale.

While he won the Pirelli’s Driver of The Year award for his tire strategies, he clinched the Anthoine Hubert Award, for being the Best ‘Rookie of the Year.’

In a conference, Tsunoda conveyed, “My strong point is my way of attacking and I think the people who see me will be impressed by that. I will be a rookie in 2021, but for the first six months, I want to be even more aggressive and get as much out of it as possible.

“Then I’ll make mistakes and I can learn from them in the second half of the year.”

Given his track record in other racing series, he will surely conquer the F1 circuit soon, and both the spectators and the F1 crew are eager to see him do so.
