Michael Schumacher retired from F1 in 2006 before making a comeback 3 years later with a German team. Sebastian Vettel considers the 7X champion as his idol. Does that mean he too will make a comeback like Schumacher? We’re not sure, but there’s a fairytale comeback in the making wherein Vettel could pull off a Schumacher.

Sebastian Vettel decided to hang up his helmet after the 2022 F1 season to pursue passions and life outside of Formula 1. Many F1 drivers, including Fernando Alonso, suspected Vettel would make a comeback to F1. Alonso, who himself took a 2-year break from F1, suggested that Vettel will miss the rush and adrenaline of racing in F1 and will make a comeback sooner than later. However, Audi will be joining F1 in 2026, exactly 3 years after Vettel’s retirement. Rumors of Sebastian Vettel’s return have been slowing in the paddock as Audi plans on capitalizing on the proposition. Can this proposition entice Vettel to comeback?

The German driver is enjoying precious time with his family and following his passions out of F1. He will soon be racing his collection of racing cars at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, encouraging e-fuels. Nevertheless, many speculations are being made as to who can be the possible drivers for Audi. The announcement of Audi joining F1 was made in the month of August last year. The Sauber Group CEO recently sparked the already hot topic of Vettel making a comeback.

According to F1Maximaal.nl, Swiss Blick reports that Andreas Seidl wishes to tempt Sebastian Vettel to make a comeback to F1 with the Audi team. As it’ll be a new team, the signing of a big name like Sebastian Vettel will have a huge positive impact on the image of the team. To add to this, Audi is all about the German DNA, and signing a 4X German World Champion will make total sense for the team. However, as mentioned above, Sebastian Vettel’s return is still quite questionable.

Coming back as a driver isn’t the only way for Sebastian Vettel to make a comeback, as the Red Bull taskmaster advises how the German can become a valuable asset for the team.

Sebastian Vettel has always had an eye for great talent. He is also probably one of the most humble people to ever drive a Formula 1 car. Helmut Marko suggested that Sebastian Vettel could very well take the role of Red Bull’s technical advisor and that he suits for that role. However, he also stressed the fact that the German needs to find himself first and take the time to spend time with his family.
