Nico Rosberg has left behind a solid legacy in Formula 1. Other than Graham and Damon Hill, only Nico Rosberg and his father Keke have done the father-son double [both Rosbergs won the F1 title in 2016 and 1982, respectively] in Formula 1. In 2016, Rosberg finally defeated his arch-nemesis Lewis Hamilton to clinch his maiden and only Formula 1 world title. He promptly retired thereafter. However, since then, he’s gone on to forge his own path as a successful TV pundit, YouTuber, and a champion for the cause of a sustainable automotive industry.
Yesterday, the 1x Champion took to his Twitter account to share that he’d been recognized by Forbes in the 40-under-40 list. Rosberg has been a key player in the sustainability scene and had gained considerable fame through his informative YouTube career.
Rosberg tweeted a picture where Forbes had featured him as the cover star! And as soon as Rosberg broke the news to the world, F1 fans swarmed to the social media platform to share their reactions. Even though all the reactions were congratulatory in nature, fans did mock the German in good spirit!

One thing Rosberg is known for amongst all F1 fans is the fact that he beat the 7x Champion Lewis Hamilton in equal machinery in 2016. And it’s partly because he has emphasized on this point on more than one occasion! Fans were quick to point this out once again, given their history! Further, fans jokingly mocked the German while congratulating him on his amazing achievement.
One fan even commented, “Is that the monaco bases Youtuber that beat Sir Lewis Hamilton on equal machinery that is on the cover ?” Let’s take a look at just a few of the fan reactions to Rosberg’s latest achievement.
Thanks @Forbes! So cool to have made a cover and to be featured as one of the individuals who are making a real impact in their respective fields. For me, having a positive impact and making a difference in this world is super important.
Congratulations Nico! I really appreciate your endeavor to make this planet a better place to live.
Even though fans were largely ecstatic at one of their favorite drivers getting recognized on the big stage, others, while meaning well, took slight jabs at the German. F1 fans will never forget the man who beat Lewis Hamilton in equal machinery after all, right?

Nico Rosberg has been the subject of many F1-related debates in the past. But we couldn’t see the German defend his title against Hamilton in 2017. So, let’s settle this debate once and for all, on equal terms, who’s the better driver? Nico Rosberg or Sir Lewis Hamilton?
