Red Bull is probably on top of their game in F1 right now. But still, the fans aren’t happy with the team after its $2.2 million worth budget cap breach scandal. There has been a lot of debate on how adequate the penalty for the cost cap breach was from the FIA. The Milton Keynes outfit will have a 10% reduction in its aero testing time for this year. Although, many people suggest it ain’s affecting Red Bull’s development excellence. Nevertheless, Christian Horner has cited that the penalty has already started having an impact, much to fans’ discontent.

According to Planet F1, Horner spoke to Chris Medland of RACER about the 10% penalty’s impact. He stated, “We’re probably 25% almost of the way through that penalty and, of course, it has an effect. It’s limiting, significantly, the amount of runs that we can do in our wind tunnel over each quarter. And I think that the team are having to adapt to that.”

Christian referred to this as being a “challenge” and a “handicap” that may turn out to be true. But, fans think it ain’t going to impact the already faster Red Bull car. With Adrian Newey’s brains and the extensive development program, the team may consolidate any loss of performance gains.

On the same, fans have called out Horner to be among a “bunch of hypocrites” at Milton Keynes. They feel the Red Bull boss is “back to complaining again” with “propaganda” in mind. Time will tell whether Christian’s statements are just propaganda or the truth. Still, fans have mocked the team that is already suffering badly after this penalty.

Fans React to Red Bull Boss Christian Horner “Whinging” and “Complaining” about the Cost Cap Breach Penalty

F1 Twitter can absolutely shoot down individuals and groups on the slightest of discontent. And when big issues like the cost cap breach by Red Bull come up, Twitter blows up with hot lava-like reactions and savage comments. Horner’s statements have not gone without taking the beating from Twitter users as usual.

Red Bull and Horner will want to keep away from this noise on social media. After all, they are the champions and may face a tough season defending their title against a stronger Mercedes and Ferrari. 2023 could very well see the tables turn if RBR gets compromised due to this cost cap penalty.

On the other hand, there is the question of that could Red Bull have avoided this cost cap saga altogether. Maybe it would have saved them from the vitriol of Twitter and social media. Although, one may also question the adequacy of the 10% penalty as well, considering Red Bull’s capability to develop a car so well.

For now, fans won’t be happy with the Milton Keynes-based outfit for a while. The 2023 season may keep this trend of trolling and mocking RBR regardless of how their season goes.
