Lando Norris has been diagnosed with a bout of severe food poisoning. This means that the Brit would most probably not be able to participate in the second last race of the 2022 Formula 1 season. But wait, there’s more. There’s a hint of a rumour in the paddock that there’s only one man who can replace the Brit at McLaren for the Brazilian Grand Prix weekend. And if that is true, we are in a good dose of 2022 F1 trivia.

Nyck de Vries drove the race of his life at the 2022 Italian Grand Prix. This has ensured that he will be on the 2023 Formula 1 grid. Imagine a rookie coming into F1 with 4 weekends’ worth of F1 action.

Nyck de Vries also tested for Alpine in a 2021 spec car earlier in the season. But if he does manage to fill in for Norris at the Brazilian Grand Prix, he’d have driven for half the cars on the 2022 grid. Does this make the Dutch driver one of the most well-prepared rookies in Formula 1 history?
