Fernando Alonso, the ever-hungry beast, has a new home at Aston Martin now. What the Spaniard can do at the British team is one of the most nail-biting suspenses that precedes the upcoming season. Recently, the man who never minces his words did not shy away from taking a dig at his previous employers. Without naming Alpine or McLaren, he claimed that his old teams, though successful in the past, were now in a celebratory mood even after finishing towards the rear end of the championship standings.

The man who dethroned the great Michael Schumacher to claim his back-to-back world titles, has been after his third for the past 16 years. Still waiting for his chance at a top team, which has been shy to come, he has opted for a team that is on its path to becoming one aligning with his own journey. He is happy that his new motoring home is different from the former ones, who were content even finishing at underwhelming positions.

During the AMR23 launch, as quoted by Planet F1, Fernando told the media, “This is very different compared to any other team that I joined in the last few occasions where maybe they had success in the past and they were just in a comfortable position. They finished fourth, and they were happy with fourth. They finished fifth, and they were happy with fifth. If we were seventh, it was a celebration.”

He further added, “Here there are no celebrations until we win, and this is very appealing.”

Lawrence Stroll’s Demanding Philosophy Faces Immense Criticism From One of Their Own: “It Requires Processes & Not Just More People”

Fernando Alonso has never disappointed the F1 world when it comes to performing to the maximum of his potential. However, luck hasn’t always been on his side as he has the most DNFs in the entire turbo hybrid era. Last year alone, Fernando claimed to have lost out on around 60 points because of the unreliability issues of Alpine. But the hopes with the new team are high as the leadership’s goals and that of Alonso are the same.

Demanding Fernando Alonso has faith in leadership at his new team

The most difficult to satiate, Alonso, it seems, has found the right match for him. Lawrence Stroll is as hungry for success as Nando. Feeling at home at Aston Martin, Fernando feels the new choice fits him like a glove in terms of the values they share. The added bonus to this new adventure is the owner of the Silverstone-based outfit.

During the launch event, Alonso said, “I’m very demanding in everything that I do. I expect a lot from people that I work with, I give my 100% and expect the same from the people that I work with.”

He further added, “Obviously, we have the leadership of Lawrence that I have known for many years now. There is no doubt that Formula 1 will not be different. He will succeed sooner or later.”
