Ocon won the race in Hungary last year and since then, he is on top of his game. Packed up with self-morale, he made up a bold claim about himself, to which he got an epic reply.

Ocon’s relationship with Fernando Alonso has flourished over time. Frenchman’s Hungarian GP win was possible with Alonso’s help. Ocon returned the favor by supporting the Spaniard at Qatar Grand Prix.

In light of all this, while talking to Motorsport.com, Esteban Ocon made a very controversial claim, which went viral and created a fuss. He said,If I look at Fernando’s career, the only teammate at his level was Lewis. Everyone else has not done better than me.” (translated using Google)

As he currently stands in P8, Team Alpine would be satisfied with Esteban Ocon’s efforts. As things stand, the Spanish veteran is 7 points behind Ocon, who would look to overtake Mclaren’s Lando Norris in P7, by diminishing his 22 points lead over the next six races. Do you think the Frenchman can pull a surprise victory this season like he did last year?
