Ferrari is in great form and has the potential to win the championship this season. But there are many doubts about Carlos Sainz, who had a disappointing week in Australia. Fans and many experts are even seeing him as the Number 2 driver for Ferrari.
But Giancarlo Minardi, the president of the Imola Circuit, believes Sainz is still one of the best drivers. The 74-year-old Italian saw little success in F1 with his own team, Minardi F1. However, he made a name for himself by scouting excellent talents. As he gave a chance to drivers like Fernando Alonso and Mark Webber.

Even after Sainz’s DNF exit in Australia, Minardi still sees a lot of potential in the Spanish driver. Giancarlo reported, “Let’s go slow. He had a bad weekend in Australia. He got nervous and made a mistake. It is not like him that he is a reliable driver. But don’t worry. Ferrari also wants the constructors’ title and Carlos is one of the best in F1. With Charles forms a winning couple, you will see that he will reflect and will never fail in that way again.”

Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton were the top contenders last season who fought neck to neck for the title. Fans expected the same from this season but they didn’t meet the expectations. The Red Bull driver got two DNFs so far while the Mercedes ace is struggling with the 2022 F1 car. Meanwhile, Charles Leclerc and Ferrari are taking all the spotlight.
But the President of the FIA’s Single Seater Commission believes Max is still a strong competition and Hamilton can still become a threat to the dominating Ferrari this season. Minardi said, “Max is not far behind. He has already won in Jeddah, and also in Bahrain, he was close before retiring.
