Formula One will return to the famous streets of Singapore in the 2022 season. The country could not host the most famous night race in the world for the past two years because of the pandemic. F1 also announced that they have signed a contract extension with the Singapore GP until 2028.

The contract extension of the Singapore Grand Prix has delighted the F1 fans. But there is one team that took to social media to express their emotions on the news of the extension, Ferrari.

The Ferrari F1 team has had mixed results at the Marina Bay circuit since its first race in 2008.

They have tasted success at the track by winning in 2010, 2015, and 2019. But they have also had some disastrous results in Singapore, like the 2017 opening lap crash.

F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali mentioned he was delighted that the sport will race in Singapore for the next seven years. “I am delighted that Formula 1 will continue to race in Singapore for another seven years,” said Formula 1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali.

“The plans that are in place to reduce the carbon footprint of the event are impressive and align with our plans to be Net Zero Carbon as a sport by 2030 and I look forward to continuing our successful relationship with Singapore GP and the Singapore Tourism Board as Formula 1 returns to this incredible city.” said the F1 CEO.
