The 2020 Scuderia Ferrari is nearly here and the team is preparing to launch it on Tuesday. The new car will be transported from Maranello to the stage of the Romolo Valli theater in Reggio Emilia. Ferrari are clearly going all out with the spectacle, with Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc mingling with the fans in Piazza dei Martiri.
The 2020 machine is an evolution of last year’s machine, owing to unchanged regulations and tires. However, Ferrari have promised the tifosi plenty of surprises, in terms of colors and graphics. Apparently, a particular version of the Italian tricolor will appear on the machine.
[CORRIERE] The SF1000 will have a matt finish, but a darker red colour. The number of the drivers will be very visible like the design used in 1970/early 1980s (a tribute to Gilles Villeneuve!). A particular version of the Italian flag will be shown too!https://t.co/64sFRaXUNY

This was largely to do with the presentation’s location, Reggio Emilia. As it turned out, in 1797, the Italian flag was born in that town. Changes to the livery include a matte varnish, a darker shade of red, and new touches. In addition to that, Vettel and Leclerc’s race numbers will take on the 1979 design.
From a technical standpoint, the wheelbase will be unchanged, but the aerodynamics have been redesigned. This is to obtain more load in the slower and more guided sections of the slopes. In other words, a more complex Ferrari will be revealed, which will be less “clean’ in the shapes but not “beaten” forward like Red Bull.
Ferrari also strengthened their chassis department by recruiting Simone Resta from Alfa Romeo. However the design philosophy of the front and the bottom does not change. In fact, Both Mercedes and Red Bull have adapted some solutions.

Meanwhile, on the engine’s side of things, research continues in order to search for more power from the V6 power unit. The power unit has given the team significant joy, but also courted controversy in 2019.
Finally, the abbreviation SF1000 is particularly popular as it would celebrate Ferrari’s 1000th GP in F1, which will be at the Canadian GP However, with the Chinese GP’s potential absence, the 1000th Ferrari race could be in France.
