Ferrari was probably the most improved team of the 2021 season. The Italian team finished third in the constructors’ championship after their miserable 2020 campaign. Team principal Mattia Binotto mentioned he is happy with the progress of both drivers.
He rated both Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz’s season and mentioned that both drivers pushed each other. Binotto pointed out how both drivers have improved throughout the course of the season.

For both of them, the vote is 8: Mattia Binotto
As reported by Planetf1, the performances of both Leclerc and Sainz have impressed Binotto in 2021. He first gave a season analysis on Sainz’s performances as it was his first season with Ferrari.
“I think his results speak for themselves. In 20 of the 22 races, he has been in the top 10, managing to finish every Grand Prix. We chose to have him with us precisely because of his ability to score points, and he has confirmed this quality on the field.” said Binotto about Carlos Sainz.

While Leclerc finished behind his new teammate in the drivers’ standings, Binotto was impressed with Leclerc’s improvement since joining the team in 2019.
“Charles, as a driver, has grown further. His talent and speed are unquestionable, as is his ability to put in important and impeccable laps in qualifying. He has also grown in his approach to racing, in his understanding and management of the tires, as well as in his management of the race, also from the point of view of strategy.” said the Ferrari team principal

“For both of them, the vote is 8,” said Mattia, while giving ratings to both drivers for the 2021 season.
Charles out-qualified his teammate throughout the year, but Sainz was more consistent and finished 5.5 points ahead of Charles in the driver’s standings; Sainz finished P5 while Leclerc was P7.
With both drivers pushing each other, Ferrari could be a strong challenger for the title in the 2022 season. Let’s see if they continue their progress into the next season.
