Ferrari F1 To Resume Operations At Maranello From Mid April, Italian Media Reports

All Formula 1 teams have strict orders to implement a complete shut down for at least 3 weeks. As Italy is one of the worst-hit countries, Ferrari F1 was proactive in imposing preventive measures and was one of the first to shut its factory in Maranello.

At Ferrari, everything is shut for quite a while now. A few weeks ago, In a statement issued by the manufacturer, it said that “Production in Maranello and Modena would cease immediately until 27 March, with the F1 team also suspending operational activities.

This implies that they can return to work moderately right off the second week of April, given that the coronavirus pandemic gets under control and other circumstance permits it.

Ferrari F1 might resume operations from 14th April

According to reports from the Italian sports newspaper, Corriere Dello Sport. All or partial activities in Ferrari F1 plant in Maranello will continue on 14 April. However, there is a significant condition for this to happen.

According to the report, the plant will only be operational if the supply chain system is still in place. It said, “The continuity of the supply chain must be guaranteed.”

The other Italy based Formula 1 outfit AlphaTauri is preparing for a full shutdown. At AlphaTauri the industrial facility will only shut down totally this week. The team made an announcement on Twitter today.

Similarly, All formula 1 teams with a manufacturing plant in the United Kingdom will remain closed, as per the government’s orders. Therefore this will include six out of the ten F1 teams including Mercedes F1, McLaren F1, and Red Bull F1. UK is the hub for F1 manufacturers. And It has a very long history of hosting multiple F1 teams.

The British government has laid down a comprehensive plan to battle the coronavirus pandemic which is now grasping Britain. The plan includes a total lockdown for a few weeks and shutting all non-essential businesses like automobile manufacturing and F1 outfits.
