The 2024 silly season is right around the corner with the 2023 season concluding and multiple drivers’ contracts expiring next season. The silly season always brings a lot of excitement and drama for the fans and always leaves everyone guessing. However, for the drivers themselves, it’s a harrowing feeling, the feeling of uncertainty. Carlos Sainz is among many whose future is still in doubt as the Spaniard will be out of contract after the 2024 season. There have been many rumors surrounding his future with Ferrari, especially after the recent event. However, the boss Frederic Vasseur has now made a statement that might give us a glimpse into his Ferrari future.

The Spaniard has been a top performer in the sport for many years. After his well-deserved move to Ferrari, he has already broken the race-win deadlock and secured another in 2023 to remove any doubt. However, despite his best efforts, the Spaniard doesn’t feel appreciated at Ferrari and the silence on the contract extension front supports his claim.

All the signs point toward Sainz potentially leaving Ferrari after fulfilling his contractual obligations. Although he might want to rethink his future plans after Vasseur heaped praise while discussing Sainz as quoted by Formu1a.uno.

“Great professional. You can see that he is part of this environment, thanks also to the example of his father. He’s tenacious, we see it in every lap he makes. This year he has worked a lot on some things that have slowed him down and his approach has changed since Monza. In sport, talent is not enough, you need to constantly improve and Carlos has this mentality,” said Vasseur.

However, kind words hold no value in a sport where opinions change as fast as the cars move. This is exactly why we always come across contradicting updates about a particular entity. Take Sainz for example, a few ago, a report suggested Sainz has already taken steps toward leaving the Italian team.
