Remember how everyone is rooting for Oliver Bearman after his wonderful performance at the Saudi Arabian GP? The youngster beat Lewis Hamilton and many fans were excited about his future in F1. However, Carlos Sainz soon reminded everyone of why he was given the Ferrari seat in the first place, as he won the Australian GP just weeks after his injury. And now, Lewis Hamilton’s former confidant, Angela Cullen has sent a 1-word message for the Spaniard.

The 2023 Saudi Arabian GP began with Carlos Sainz missing the media session as he was deemed sick. Later that weekend, we found out about Sainz’s appendicitis which required surgery. As a result, rookie Oliver Bearman filled in for the experienced Carlos Sainz. But before we knew it, Carlos Sainz was back for the Australian GP. And boom, he qualified on the front row and clinched the victory.

The whole F1 paddock was surprised by Sainz’s feat, who himself admitted that he was not at 100% but still went forward and decided to race, the mark of a true racer. And now Carlos Sainz posted pictures on his Instagram regarding his road to recovery. The caption to the post was, “My road to recovery, and a little tribute to the people that made this weekend happen. Now time to get back training, in good shape and prepare the next few races. THANK YOU!”

And guess what, amidst many, Angela Cullen was also one who was surprised by Carlos Sainz’s win and recovery. Angela Cullen was Lewis Hamilton’s former performance coach who left at the start of the 2023 season. She was recently spotted working with Marcus Armstrong who races in the IndyCar series. After leaving the 7X champ’s side, and with Hamilton being in quite a bad spot with the Mercedes car not performing, Cullen commented on Carlos Sainz’s post.

But what did Angela Cullen say? What was the reaction of some other people from the paddock? Let’s dive into it.

“Legend” Carlos Sainz receives praise for his Quick Recovery and Australian GP win

Angela Cullen was responsible for making sure Lewis Hamilton remains for all the races so it’s no surprise she commended Carlos Sainz for such a quick recovery after an appendicitis surgery. After all, she probably knew what it took from Sainz’s point of view to get back to full racing speed. Cullen commented “Legend” on Carlos Sainz’s post.
