Formula 1 holds the image of being extremely ruthless and highly competitive, which is spot on. This feature of the sport often sparks rivalries as well. However, even though we do see this scenario more often than not, it’s not a hard-headed rule, as there are some exceptions as well. Perhaps the biggest exceptions on the current grid are Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris. The two formed a remarkable relationship during their time at McLaren, which is still going strong, and we were recently reminded of it.

Many thought the bromance between Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris would fizzle out after the Spaniard joined Ferrari. However, that has surely not been the case. They keep proving it as well. For example, Sainz’s, “Omg, whoa! Lando there! I think he didn’t see me but we nearly crashed” reaction to Norris impeding him on a flying lap during the 2023 US GP would’ve been very different if it were another driver.

Now, the two have recently showcased their bromance off the track as well. The fan favorite, CarLando was chosen to take part in a fun game organized by the less serious side of F1, and their interaction proved once again the bond they share.

As seen in the YouTube video on F1’s official page, the two played a game called Box of Bluffs. Both of them were given a box, and only one had dice in it. The task was for Sainz to open his box, and after knowing the contents of his box, he had to convince Norris to swap or stay with his box to get the box with the dice.

And here are some insights on the conversation and the mind games Carlos Sainz played with his dear friend, Lando. However, we won’t be able to do justice to the hilarity that ensued between the two. You can take some time out and go watch the hilarious 5-minute-long video and live another moment in the growing legend of CarLando.

To give you more motivation, there’s a very well-placed and well-timed hilarious appendix joke. The entire video is a laugh riot, and we love to see such moments between the two. However, the bond between the two isn’t highlighted just during off-track activities; Sainz showcased his brotherhood during the 2023 Singapore GP as well.

No one has forgotten Carlos Sainz’s second race win of his career and perhaps the smoothest operation by him so far. The Spaniard deliberately kept his old McLaren teammate in the DRS range to keep the faster Mercedes cars at bay. This gave Norris a fighting chance and also earned him a P2 in the race.

Helping your friend stay on track during a race is unheard of in the ruthless world of Formula 1. This is exactly why we truly believe CarLando will live on forever. To add to their legend, Norris also expressed his gratitude toward his old friend.
