Money is the name of the game in F1. Look at how Lawrence Stroll turned around Aston Martin’s fortune by investing heavily in the team. The same goes for Mercedes when they influx a lot of investment prior to the 2012 season and went on to dominate for 8 years. As Lewis Hamilton is in the last year of his mere $35,000,000 Mercedes contract, Ferrari gears up to pursue a $14,000,000 masterstroke to attract Lewis Hamilton toward Maranello. But what is the masterstroke?

Eddie Jordan suggested toward the start of the season that F1 needs Lewis Hamilton in a Ferrari. Later, the rumors of him joining Ferrari became stronger as Mercedes failed to provide a competitive car and Hamilton’s criticism of the W14 increased. About a month later, rumors of Charles Leclerc joining Mercedes popped up as Lewis Hamilton was and still is in his last year of Mercedes’ contract. Regardless, both the drivers put an end to the rumors by suggesting how they love their current team and want to win with them.

However recently the speculation of Lewis Hamilton joining Ferrari has come up again. And this time the interest is being shown from the Maranello side. Dailymail.co.uk suggests Ferrari is set to offer Lewis Hamilton a deal to sign with them. The site suggests that Ferrari is ready to offer the 7X champion a $49,710,000 worth deal. Not only will Lewis Hamilton get another chance at his 8th championship, but it is also a $14,000,000 hike compared to his current Mercedes contract.

As Dailymail suggested, if Ferrari decides to sign Lewis Hamilton, then they would be left to make a choice. Either they can pair Charles Leclerc alongside Lewis Hamilton or it could be Carlos Sainz. In case Ferrari decided to stick Sainz alongside Hamilton, then it would most probably be a swap with Mercedes where Leclerc would go to the Silver Arrows to become George Russell’s teammate.

While the aspect of Lewis Hamilton going to Ferrari sounds interesting, both the Ferrari drivers recently explained how it is their dream to win a championship with Ferrari and they see their future with the team. Either Leclerc or Sainz’s dream will be left unfulfilled if the Briton signs with the Maranello-based team.

Charles Leclerc recently explained his dream of winning a title wearing a red race suit with a red race car. Carlos Sainz saw eye to eye with his teammate as he suggested that nothing would make him happier than winning a championship with Ferrari. He added how the thought of winning with Ferrari and then working towards it motivates him. There’s no reason for Sainz to leave Scuderia if he feels this way for the team. He sees his immediate future only with the Red team.

According to the-race.com, Carlos Sainz said, “My immediate future, I only see it with Ferrari and wanting to be successful with this team. There’s nothing that would make me happier than winning again with Ferrari, than mounting a title challenge with Ferrari. If you win it or not, it’s a championship fight. You can come out on top or not. But mounting that challenge is short- and medium-term what really motivates me. I feel really at home with the team. There’s a good atmosphere.”
