He reminded everyone of the team’s struggles in the 2020 and 2021 seasons. The Italian team finished the 2020 season in 6th while they improved in 2021 to 3rd. But they were not competing for wins and championships with Mercedes and Red Bull.

Elkann stated that despite their successful start to the season, they need to keep performing throughout the season.

Which Teams Use Ferrari Engines in F1?

“We said two years ago that we had to work hard to get back to being competitive and the 2022 championship has got off to a truly thrilling start. Like all our Tifosi (fans) around the world, I am delighted we are competing at the highest level,” said Elkann.

“That said, we know the season has just begun and in Formula 1 you are always surrounded by fierce competitors. We must work tirelessly as a team to optimize every aspect of our performance. That is the spirit and approach I look forward to seeing at Imola and as the season progresses,” said the Ferrari chairman.

They can certainly win both titles this season as they have got arguably the fastest car on the grid with one of the best driver line up. It would be interesting to see if they can finish the 2022 season at an all-time high.
