“They call me the Michael Schumacher of my friend group.” Even though it has been more than a decade since he retired, Schumacher’s name continues to be used as a metaphor for speed. Ten years ago, the 7x champion was involved in a horrific Skiing accident. On the anniversary of the incident, the Tifosi have come out to share memories of the depressing time. 

Michael Schumacher is an idol for both fans and drivers like Sebastian Vettel. The German didn’t only inspire his generation but continues to do the same for the current one. Many of us haven’t witnessed Schumacher in all his glory, but looking back at the old races, we realize the sheer determination within the champ. Unfortunately, soon after ending his F1 career in 2012 with Mercedes, Schumacher faced a life-altering incident on December 29th, 2013.

Schumacher drove the fastest and the scariest machines on earth for over two decades. However, it wasn’t his machine that put him in the condition that he is today. The 7x champ went Skiing during the 2013 holiday season with his family in the French Alps. In an unforeseen turn of events, Schumacher was involved in an accident while skiing that led to serious head injuries. The legendary racer hasn’t been seen in public since that day.

Even the health situation hasn’t been disclosed to the public as the Schumacher family likes to keep the details to themselves. Yet, fans all around the world still remember him fondly and hope for a full recovery. Michael Schumacher enjoyed his most successful years with Ferrari. And on the 10th Anniversary of the accident, Scuderia Ferrari posted a Tweet on X remembering their legend. The Tweet read, “10 years on and always in our hearts. Keep fighting Michael.”

The Tifosi were sent on an emotional journey after seeing the tweet as they commented on how the accident didn’t feel real. An outpour of emotions was seen in the comment section. Let’s see what they said.

The realization that Michael Schumacher has being missing from the public eye for ten years hit the Tifosi hard and fast. Earlier this season, Toto Wolff advised how things would’ve been different for Mick Schumacher had his father been around. And not only Mick, it would’ve been different for us as well. The heavy rejection of not seeing him walk and smile across the paddock wouldn’t be there. Fans took to Twitter to explain what’s in their heart.
