Horner has no doubts of Max Verstappen being a world champion

The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix was the title-deciding race between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. But a safety car towards the end of the race turned the odds of the championship, which saw the Red Bull driver come out on top as champion of the word.

As quoted by PlanetF1, Horner said, “He’s the World Champion, he’s a deserving World Champion…well, nobody can take that away from him.”

“I think they have been the outstanding team, they have done their job this year. Max has driven with heart, with passion, with determination. He’s had bad luck and he got a little bit lucky with the Safety Car tonight, but he had to make it pay,” Horner explained.

With a few months left before the start of the 2022 season, the Dutch driver is hoping to defend his title but, as for now, he will savor the moment of being a world champion.
