It seems the Abu Dhabi saga at the end of the 2021 season will not end anytime soon as the ripple effects continue to overshadow the start of the next season. In the 2021 season finale, Max Verstappen took the lead from the seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton at the last stage of the race due to a controversial call from the race committee.
Many believe the Dutch driver only won the championship because of Race Director Michael Masi’s decision during the safety car period. Recently, 2009 world champion Jenson Button showed his support for the young World Champion.

In an interview, Button said, “For me, he is the fastest and most talented driver of all. But if he can improve on that and become someone like Lewis, he would get the complete package.”

“Max will be a bit more relaxed after the 2021 season. From the way he won the last race, I’m sure he wants to go out and fight from the get-go. He’s won a World Championship, but I’m sure he wants to show that he can win another title so he can say, ‘Look, it wasn’t Michael Masi’s fault’,” Button added.
