Former F1 Driver Embarrassed By Lance Stroll’s ‘Strangest Explanation’ for Awful Show in Australia

The start of the 2022 season has been a catastrophe for Aston Martin. For team drivers Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll, the season brought in a sheer disappointment. The driver duo failed to pick up a single point as of now and doesn’t look good as a whole. As for Lance Stroll, Jacques Villeneuve explains the embarrassment.

The British team is finding the new season hard to get going and even lags behind the likes of Haas and Williams. Once a strong mid-field team is now reduced to their dust. It is believed that the team needs to do a whole lot of work to get themselves back in form.

Talking about Lance’s Australian Grand Prix crash with Williams’ Nicholas Latifi, Villeneuve conveyed, “Stroll’s incident with Latifi in qualifying was just embarrassing. He also once blamed the track for the crash, which was perhaps the strangest explanation for a crash ever. And in the race, we saw that Stroll really does use his mirrors given his swing tactics.”

How do things look like for Lance’s Stroll Aston Martin in 2022?

The recently concluded Australian Grand Prix has been a disaster for the Silverstone-based team. Both the drivers suffered crashes in the qualifying with Sebastian Vettel finding getting going tough on two occasions. Once he hit the wall, the other he had smoke coming out of his car.

Lance Stroll’s teammate had a tough return to the weekend. Even during the race, Vettel spun to take home a start to the season he will probably want to forget. Initially, the German couldn’t take part in the first two races as he contracted Covid-19.

Talking about this, Villeneuve further stated, “Team-mate Vettel is clearly not having a good time, I think he would rather be at home. He has also made mistakes at Ferrari, but his slippers this weekend do not suit his stature.”

Aston Martin uses Mercedes engines. As everyone’s aware by now that they are underperforming. Even though Mercedes and McLaren made some upgrades to their cars as per the statistics in Australia. As the mid-field teams like Alfa Romeo, AlphaTauri, Alpine, and Haas look stronger this season, the Green team will need to put up massive upgrades if they want to have points in the future.
