Ferrari and McLaren are fighting at the top for the constructor’s championship and are finally catching up with Red Bull. Lando Norris won the Miami Grand Prix with a meager help from the safety car, but he kept his lead and even increased the gap between him and Max Verstappen. However, Ferrari is directly behind Red Bull at the moment and on this team, it’s not only the drivers who are pushing to the absolute limit.

Frederic Vasseur has recently been on a mission to click a supergroup to take down Red Bull and Max Verstappen. This mission involves one of the biggest driver transfers seen in F1 and getting their hands on Red Bull‘s biggest weapon. While phase 1 is complete, phase 2 will ensure Ferrari changes the game. Zak Brown recently implemented some upgrades to the McLarens, and the results showed at the Miami GP. But what exactly does Vasseur have in mind when it comes to winning the world championship?

While Lewis Hamilton has already signed the papers for Ferrari next year, many other people in F1 would like a job at Ferrari- engineers and mechanics from other teams. Frederic Vasseur was not surprised when Lando Norris drove the McLaren to victory, considering he has seen their pace since China.

According to FormulaPassion.it, Vasseur stated, “I think Red Bull is still ahead. Without the Safety Car, Max probably would have won and still took pole position, which is why they still have an advantage. Compared to a year ago, however, now when we do a good job and put everything together we are there, we can apply pressure.”

He explained how it’s not the upgrades that will put Red Bull behind, but the constant process of getting better. It is not an approach with an end, as Red Bull will not wait for Ferrari and McLaren to catch up to them. Ferrari does not want to beat Red Bull at a Grand Prix but in the entire constructor’s championship.

Vasseur explained, We can be more aggressive with the strategy and they are no longer in the comfort zone of last season when they were ahead no matter what. For us, it is an opportunity. With another small step, we could fight with them at every race.”

Frederic Vasseur signed off by addressing people talking about some of the Mercedes crew wanting to join Ferrari and hinting towards Red Bull CTO joining the team. Many people from all the teams are having interviews in Maranello! Not just from Mercedes, he concluded.

Now, it’s all over the news that Adrian Newey is leaving Red Bull. And when Vasseur said not just from Mercedes, he meant from Red Bull too. Adrian Newey was spotted in the Ferrari facility at Mugello early in April and has everyone pondering whether Ferrari has a hold on Newey.

Ferrari is not shy about spending on making things work and has been rumored to have offered Newey a blank cheque to join the team. After Red Bull confirmed Newey’s leave from the team, many started calculating the gardening period he would have to serve before joining a new team.

As Adrian Newey exited in the first quarter of this season, this will make him free to join Ferrari in 2025 while the team is working on the new car for the new regulations. That will mean Ferrari will have Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc, led by Frederic Vasseur, driving machines engineered by Adrian Newey.

If that sentence does not give you chills, I’m unsure what will. That being said, do you think it will soon be time that Ferrari will win a world championship? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
