With every race that goes by, Ferrari’s ambition is to catch up to Max Verstappen and break the team’s winless streak. Following yet another setback at Silverstone, Charles Leclerc and his squad are discovered to be in deep waters. However, amidst these circumstances, the Monegasque has conducted himself as best he can, making every effort to bring back Ferrari’s grandeur! Nevertheless, Ferrari team boss Frederic Vasseur has dashed the Monegasque’s aspirations by pointing out a fresh problem that is plaguing the Maranello-based team.

W have already witnessed 10 races this season. So far, it has been a rollercoaster ride with much of the journey heading downhill for the Scuderia. Following an initial pace issue, it was soon discovered that the Prancing Horse had been experiencing big tire deterioration problems. Leclerc did, however, do well on the Azerbaijan and Austrian tracks. And with a strong qualifying performance at the English circuit, where both of the Ferrari drivers finished in the top 5, the team’s expectations soared. However, the squad lost ground with their plan and slipped behind Williams’ enhancements.

Lately, the situation has become embarrassing for Leclerc and Co. after being plagued with a multitude of problems. Yet, Leclerc handled himself extremely well amidst the sights of distress, and even said, “ I am even more motivated to change that, to bring Ferrari back to where it deserves to be.”

However, this year doesn’t seem to go the Ferrari way as the side has to battle with an uphill task at the Hungaroring track. The Prancing Horse team principal though expressed hope following the Silverstone GP last week, he admitted that the Reds’ tire selection may have been a little too conservative for the English track.

However, now shutting down any of Leclerc’s hope, Vasseur on gazzetta.it stated that on paper the team with its tire might look good, but in reality, “there is the theme of the set-up, it is not enough that the package adapts to the track. It will be important to decide on a good set-up. All the preparation for the weekend, including Friday, will be fundamental. And in Hungary even more so because it’s a track that is difficult to overtake.”

Considering the fact that Vasseur and Charles Leclerc are fully aware of the overall pace gap between them and Red Bull, the way Leclerc attacks Red Bull exhibits a strong character. The Ferrari team principal opened up about it recently.

With 157 points to Red Bull’s 411 in the constructor’s championship, the Prancing Horse is currently in fourth place. Undoubtedly, the Scuderia’s sporadic performances have given them a chance to compete with Red Bull occasionally. Even though it is hard for them to outperform the Austrian team this year, the Monegasque takes advantage of the frequent chances of attacking them fiercely. However, Ferrari’s strategic calls and the myriad of problems have prevented them from succeeding.

Nevertheless, team boss Frederic Vasseur asserts that Charles Leclerc hasn’t changed his mentality despite competing in a subpar SF23. The goal of the Monegasque is always winning. As per motorsports.com, Vasseur said, “Leclerc is capable of exceptional things. Sometimes he does things that you don’t know where he can get them from out. Charles is a driver who always thinks about winning. Our car is behind the Red Bull, but he is still there thinking about trying to win. In certain situations, we have seen him push too much.”
