The business end of F1’s silly season continues as more drama develops. F1 drivers like Mick Schumacher, Daniel Ricciardo, and a few more face an uncertain future. Meanwhile, Mattia Binotto adds fuel to the fire surrounding the rumor mill. The Italian claimed that the Ferrari development driver ‘deserves’ an F1 seat next year as he managed to impress the team boss.
With speculations surrounding the uncertain future of multiple drivers, Binotto has further thrown Robert Shwartzman’s name in the roulette for next season. The news will come as a big blow for Mick in particular, as his future is also uncertain. To add to that, Guenther Steiner recently criticized Mick for his inconsistency.

Binotto believes the Ferrari reserve driver deserves a chance in an F1 vehicle. Speaking to motorsport.com, Binotto said, “Robert is a fantastic driver, I think he is very fast, especially in an F1 car.” (Translated from Google Translate)
Binotto further added that many drivers do great in F3 and F2 but fail to perform at the pinnacle of motorsport. However, he doesn’t think that is the case with Robert.
The Italian concluded, “I think he has improved as drivers. He has developed and is much more mature now, even compared to a year ago. So I think he deserves a seat. We know it’s very difficult now, but hopefully it will happen in the future.”
The frenzied season in F1 continues as mid-table teams struggle to find competent drivers for next year. With Nyck de Vries impressing in his debut outing, Shwartzman will be hoping for a chance to perform as well.
Ferrari and Mick Schumacher will discuss the future in the coming days
Mattia Binotto has said he will sit down with Mick Schumacher to discuss his future with Ferrari. Mick was elected a member of Ferrari’s Driving Academy (FDA) in 2019 after winning the F3 Championship the earlier year. However, with rumors surrounding Mick’s future with Haas, he is also speculated to leave the FDA.
