“Fully Deserving”- Racing Point Boss Justifies Lance Stroll Keeping his Seat for 2021

Racing Point comes out to be a strong contender for that third spot in the race for the Constructors’ Championship. Lance Stroll won P2 at Monza after a huge debacle, and that taste of glory has left the Silverstone-based outfit hungry for more. However, Lawrence Stroll and Otmar Szafnauer have had to face heavy criticism for replacing Sergio Perez.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to crack the puzzle behind  Racing Point’s decision to retain Stroll and not Checo. However, Lance was ahead of Perez in the Drivers’ Championship standings, which only means that he was performing better than Sergio this season. Nonetheless, removing Checo and letting in Sebastian Vettel was a tough decision for Racing Point.

Racing Point chief believes that Lance deserves a seat at Aston Martin

Otmar Szafnauer and his crew gear up for another tense weekend in Russia. However, Otmar clarified several things before their weekend at Sochi. A headliner among those was his attempt at justifying Lance Stroll’s retention to race alongside Sebastian Vettel.

“He’s in the ascendancy and clearly demonstrating his talent, and why he is fully deserving of his place alongside Sebastian next year,” declared Szafnauer.

Admittedly, Lance has been performing much better than his present teammate. Bar his unfortunate DNF at Mugello, the racer has made it to a points finish every time. He has always been right behind the winners, securing for the team.

Though the entire grid is aware of Lawrence Stroll’s politics in manipulating decisions, Lance is living up to his promise. Since moving ahead from Williams to Racing Point, the racer has improved by leaps and bounds.

Otmar also clarified a few other doubts. Regarding the team’s performance this season, he was sure that Racing Point will scale greater heights in the days to come.

“We’ve increased the size of the team by 25% in two years, so we’ve hired a significant amount of people. We’ve got great backing from Aston Martin, from title sponsor BWT, from Lawrence and the consortium.

“Because of it, we can now afford to do things that we couldn’t in the past. And those are things like a new factory, more manufacturing capability, hiring people that will bring performance to the car.”

Otmar feels convinced of the fact that F1 is the race of who has more money. And now that the British team have secured a stable source of finances, he is certain that good times are a comin!
