George Russell will join the Mercedes AMG F1 team at the beginning of the 2022 season. The young British driver would replace Valtteri Bottas in the team. Russell might not have a problem in adjusting from Williams to Mercedes as he has already driven for the German team.

Russell subbed in for Lewis Hamilton at the 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix after the latter tested positive for COVID-19. The young Brit impressed everyone with his driving as he almost won the race. The outgoing Williams driver mentioned that he was ready to move to Mercedes at the end of the 2020 season.
