George Russell Picks This Eminem Rap to Describe His F1 Career

George Russell had a rollercoaster season last year. He regularly catapulted Williams Racing into Q2 and came tantalizingly close to scoring his first points with Williams at Imola. However, his night of the year came during Sakhir Grand Prix, where he replaced Hamilton in Mercedes for a weekend.

The champion had to sit out because of the coronavirus. Thus, Russell had the opportunity of a lifetime to drive the best car on the grid and prove his skills as a driver. In a recent interview, picked up a song that he believes sums up his Formula 1 career.

“Eminem – Lose Yourself,” he chose.

“In this sport every opportunity could be your last or the one which makes your career. That song is a constant reminder that every single race is an opportunity to showcase what you can do and prove to the world that you deserve to be in F1.”

George Russell admits he uses music to relax

A Formula 1 driver is constantly under an outrageous amount of pressure to perform and deliver results. For a young driver, it is important to prove themselves on the grid, as Russell explains that music is his choice of dealing with the pressure.

“You need to be ready to do the job but equally you can’t be too hyped because you need that element of being relaxed to be right on your limit,” said the young Briton.

George Russell had an exciting outing at the Sakhir Grand Prix. The Briton came close to winning the race before a pit stop blunder and tire failure took the podium away from him. However, he put on display his impeccable skills that weekend.

Currently, Russell is focused on delivering the best result for Williams Racing in 2021. However, Toto Wolff has promised that the Briton is going to get his shot to be a Mercedes driver in the future.
