George Russell and Nyck de Vries are both part of the Mercedes stable of drivers. However, as it is, the Mercedes connection isn’t the only link both these drivers share. In reality, there is even a closer connection that the duo share. And it involves De Vries’ sister.

As it turns out, George Russell dated de Varis’s sister. Way back in his GP3 days, Russell met De Vries’ sister Seychelle De Vries, and sparks flew. Reportedly, they began dating in 2017. However, they broke up after more than two years together.

He cited the race at Zandvoort as the prime example of why he feels they need to sort stuff out. “I said [to them] after Zandvoort that, for my feeling, it was a little bit too close. It could have gone wrong, but they know. They are experts.”

Wolff, however, contextualized his statements. “How I would describe the relationship is with respect – the respect of the rookie that acknowledges his teammate is the greatest driver of all time, with Michael [Schumacher].”
