A day before the Austrian race weekend began, Kelly Piquet almost delivered bad news to Max Verstappen fans. The Highlights section on Instagram that was centered around her relationship with the Dutchman had disappeared. But it had not disappeared for everybody. Some users could still see and view it. Later, it was confirmed to be an Instagram glitch, putting breakup rumors to rest, to some extent. Now, after the Qualifying session in Austria, Piquet’s Instagram story has completely put an end to those rumors.

The Qualifying at the Red Bull Ring was a wild one. But, as expected, Verstappen topped the charts in all three sessions. He got provisional poles and eventually, Pole position for Sunday’s race. The entire grandstand was engulfed in orange flames as the Orange Army celebrated. Joining the celebrations remotely, was Verstappen’s girlfriend, Kelly Piquet.

She reposted F1’s post of Verstappen getting Pole on her story. She captioned it: “🔥🔥🚀❤️”. This is more than enough evidence to show that the two are still a couple. What started as a platform glitch has ended with a firm voluntary statement. While the haters continue sobbing, the Orange Army has one more reason to celebrate.

The Qualifying session in Austria was one of the weirdest ones this season. The FIA had a field day deleting lap times for violation of track limits. Nearly all the drivers got their lap time deleted at some point or another. But Sergio Perez might have created some kind of unwanted record with 3 lap times getting deleted in Q2.

Max Verstappen made it 4 Pole positions in a row this season, and 3 Poles in a row in Austria. But for Red Bull, it was a very contrasting session. Their 2nd driver, Perez, missed out on Q3 for the 4th time in a row. And he will start Friday’s race all the way back in P15. So, for the team, it is a mixed result. One that they can do nothing about.
