To replace Lewis Hamilton in Mercedes, Toto Wolff is pushing the FIA to grant Kimi Antonelli his super license before the age of 18. As the young driver will be turning 18 in August, according to the FIA, he will have to wait for his birthday to get his license. But now, with Wolff pushing the FIA to make an exception like it was made for Max Verstappen, it looks like there are chances of them caving.

This means two big things for the F1 grid. Kimi Antonelli will get to enter F1 this year while he is still racing in his F2 season. The other big change will be the driver on the grid which will be replaced by Antonelli. So far, it’s been rumored that before the Italian driver gets a seat in Mercedes, he will be driving for Williams to train for Lewis Hamilton’s position, and the driver getting the worst end of the deal is said to be Logan Sargeant.

Logan Sargeant will be driving for Williams at the Miami Grand Prix, which will be his home race. But that news soon turned into a sad one as it started being rumored that it might just be his last race. While F1 fans are happy about Antonelli joining the grid, they are unhappy with how Sargeant is reportedly being done dirty.

When news about Antonelli’s Super Licence request showed up on Twitter, many fans got the picture that Sargeant might be replaced and started discussing the American driver’s fate in the comments section.

Fans voiced Logan Sargeant’s F1 career hanging in balance

When the post about the license started getting views, fans started to discuss what Sargeant do if he lost his seat. The driver is yet to score points and currently is at the very back of the pecking order and Miami might be his chance to prove himself. One fan spoke about IndyCar driver Colton Thomas Herta not being granted a Super Licence and considering that, they believe Antonelli should not get one either, “Shouldn’t get a pass if they weren’t willing to give herta one.”

One fan spoke about how Red Bull is known for replacing drivers if they feel like they are not performing stating that Sargeant might just get the same treatment, “Seems like Sargeant is gonna get Red Bull treatment without even being in Red Bull.”

This fan believes that Antonelli is a better driver than Logan Sargeant but is against the idea of the Italian getting a super license if it means breaking a rule. They questioned the point of having rules if they were to be overridden for a team’s convenience,

Looking at the news of Antonelli, this fan asked the question that is on many fans’ minds, will Miami be “Final race in Miami?”

This fan was rooting for Kimi Antonelli in F2 and would like him to finish the season before getting an early promotion. While this is an unpopular opinion, it makes a lot of sense considering that pre-existing rules would need to be bent to bring him into F1.

That being said, there is no official statement from Williams if Logan Sargeant will be replaced if Antonelli gets his super license. Even if it were to happen, getting the License would take several weeks for the process to get completed
