Good News for the Tifosi As F1 Teases Return to Ferrari’s Base at Mugello

After two races in Italy this season, the Tifosi can bring out their Italian flags again as Mugello might soon be a destination for the F1 circus. Adding a Ferrari base to the circuit? A more enthusiastic Italian crowd.

After the positive feedback from the Losail circuit, F1 looks to add another Moto GP circuit to its calendar. Although F1 had a celebratory Tuscan GP in 2020, the CEO of the circuit is ready to welcome Formula 1 permanently.

In a recent interview, Paolo Poli said, “We should succeed, when there will be the conditions, to follow up on the first Tuscan F1 GP so that it will be a structural event over time.”

While 2024 seems to be the likely introductory year, Poli hopes for a sooner arrival. “I hope to succeed even sooner. After months of great difficulty, the Ferrari company has re-embraced Mugello.”

The last Tuscan GP at the 1000th Ferrari F1 race

In 2020, it was a historic 1000th race for the Prancing Horses. As a result, a race in Mugello was a fitting location for the race. Complete with red safety cars and a special Ferrari livery, the race was about Ferrari through and through.

A race with three red flags and a lot of action, solidifying its place on the F1 calendar, would be an exciting move. A breathtakingly fast circuit, it was a challenge for the drivers the last time around.

Although an exciting prospect for Ferrari fans, the race wasn’t the best for the team. With Leclerc and Vettel struggling for points throughout the race; a poor qualifying ultimately dominoes into a bad race.

However, the race at Mugello the last time around was as intense as anything the sport had seen in some time. Now prepared against the multi-car collision from last year, surely F1 will have a delightful time at yet another Italian circuit.
