Racing fans, and not just Aston Martin fans in particular, are keen to see Vettel’s impact on the legacy team. But, from team boss Otmar Szafnauer’s perspective, he opines Vettel has a splendid chance to achieve a Top 3 finish this season.

Szafnauer stated, “He has a tremendous amount of experience in Formula 1, but is still young at the same time.” (translated via Google Translate)

Sebastian Vettel needs the ‘right car’ in the ‘right environment’, says Szafnauer

“You don’t forget how to build a Formula 1 car I think he needs the right car in the right environment, where everyone pulls in the same direction and goes in one direction.”

“If everyone here does this with the greatest possible commitment, I am convinced that Sebastian will build on his successful performances.”

Following a horrible 2020 season with Ferrari, there will be a slight adaptation period for Vettel with his new team. But, alongside teammate Lance Stroll, the 56-year-old believes Vettel can attain some incredible results with Aston Martin.

Szafnauer continued, “I think he has a great chance of achieving that. He has Lance (Stroll, editor’s note) by his side, who is also is a very fast driver with a great talent.”

Vettel will aim to challenge for podiums and top-five finishes with Aston Martin

“I believe that both will work very well together to bring the team forward. The combination and cooperation of two such drivers is important to bring the team to the level that promises top performance,” concluded Szafnauer.

Undoubtedly, Vettel has some great capabilities and a plethora of racing experience. Considering Aston Martin had the third-fastest car, a world-class driver will only get them superior results consistently.

Thus, with the German’s introduction, they will now look to mount a step forward in the right direction. Rest assured, from a driver of Vettel’s stature, all they will get is commitment and the hunger to succeed.
